TheMainView ("we", "our", or "us") operates the TheMainView mobile application and website at themainview.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name and email address through our authentication provider (Clerk). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google.
Location Data
With your permission, we collect your device's GPS location to show nearby businesses, generate routes, and enable visit check-ins. Background location tracking is opt-in only and is used solely for automatic visit detection. Location data is processed locally on your device; only visit events (not continuous location streams) are sent to our servers.
User-Generated Content
If you are a business owner, we collect business information you provide: business name, description, address, photos, offers, events, and updates. If you are a consumer, we collect your saved favorites, route history, and chat messages with our AI route assistant.
Device Information
We collect a randomly generated device identifier (stored locally), device type, and browser/app information for analytics and to improve performance.
Usage Data
We collect anonymized usage data including page views, button clicks, content interactions, and feature usage to understand how the app is used and improve the experience.
Photos
With your permission, we may access your camera for QR code scanning and photo-based visit verification. Photos used for verification are sent to our servers for processing.

Each service operates under its own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.
Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Supabase (hosted on AWS). We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and follow security best practices. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Usage analytics are retained in aggregated form. If you delete your account, your personal data will be removed from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

TheMainView is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
With your permission, we send push notifications for route timing reminders, journey updates, and important account notifications. You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of TheMainView after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
